ABSTRACT
The innovative development of agri-food systems (in terms of mego, macro, meso and micro levels) is influenced by many factors affecting the effectiveness of this process, including traditional factors and new potential factors (climate change, sanctions, changes in the global world order, global development trends) that create additional risks and "big challenges." These risks and challenges require adaptation to new conditions and the development of innovative solutions. The article by the author emphasizes the importance of innovative development of agri-food systems. Key areas of innovative development of agri-food systems in modern Russia have been identified. The author considered external challenges and threats to the innovative development of agri-food systems. The author describes in more detail the technological challenges and environmental challenges and threats of innovative development of agri-food systems and solutions to overcome them. Emphasis is placed on economic sanctions as an external factor that can affect agri-food systems. The author states that external challenges and threats to agri-food systems can lead to various consequences, which are considered in this work. The result of the use of large-scale innovations in the innovative development of agri-food systems has been identified. A set of measures is presented to minimize emerging threats for the innovative development of agri-food systems, as well as for their sustainable development.
